Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Prism Discovery.
General
It monitors what AI engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude say about your brand. It also detects SEO problems automatically, generates AI-optimised content, and automates weekly SEO workflows, all in one platform.
SEO professionals, digital marketing teams, agencies managing client websites, and e-commerce brands who want to stay visible in both traditional search and AI-powered answer engines.
AI visibility measures how often and how prominently your brand appears in responses from AI engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. It tracks whether AI recommends your brand, cites your pages, or ignores you entirely.
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) focuses on ranking in traditional search results like Google. AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) focuses on being cited by AI-powered answer engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. This platform covers both.
Most SEO tools only track Google rankings. This platform also monitors AI engines for brand mentions and citations, something no traditional SEO tool does. It also includes automated weekly workflows and step-by-step fix guides for every detected problem.
Getting Started
Less than 5 minutes. Connect your Google Search Console with one click, set up your brand identity, and the platform begins syncing 90 days of data automatically.
No. Every detected problem comes with a step-by-step How? guide written in plain English. The platform is designed for marketing professionals, not developers.
Google Search Console (via OAuth), Semrush data (via CSV import), and Ahrefs data (via CSV import). The platform unifies all sources into a single dashboard.
Yes. Each website is set up as a project within a workspace. The Trial plan includes 1 project, Starter includes 3, Pro includes 10, and Enterprise is unlimited.
AI Visibility Monitoring
You create monitored prompts: questions your customers might ask AI. The platform queries ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude daily with those prompts, then parses the responses for mentions of your brand and citations of your pages.
A question you want to track across AI engines. For example: What are the best SEO tools? or Who provides party entertainment in London? You can create up to 50 monitored prompts per project.
ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), Perplexity, Claude (Anthropic), and Google AI Overview. Google AI Overview is included on Enterprise plans.
Daily at 2 AM UTC automatically. You can also trigger a manual run at any time using the Run Now button.
Yes. Add up to 10 competitor domains per project. The platform tracks their brand mentions and citations alongside yours, showing side-by-side visibility scores.
Four types: when your brand first appears in an AI engine, when it disappears after consistent presence, when a competitor overtakes your visibility score, and when your citation rate drops significantly.
Content & SEO
Blog posts, SEO titles, meta descriptions, H1 suggestions, Quick Answer boxes, FAQ sections, schema suggestions, LinkedIn posts, X posts, Instagram captions, hashtag sets, and image prompts.
Every blog post generated is checked against 8 AEO signals including Quick Answer boxes, question-led headings, direct-answer first sentences, structured lists, FAQ sections, specific statistics, brand attribution, and related articles.
Five types: traffic decline, low click-through rate (SEO gap), content decay (declining positions over time), missing AEO signals (AEO gap), and missing entity coverage for AI citation (GEO gap).
Every Monday at 7 AM UTC: syncs your Google Search Console data, runs gap analysis, scrapes competitor pages, generates a rank tracking report, and creates a content brief for your best opportunity.
Increasing Your Clicks
Follow this five-phase action plan, each with specific steps you can track inside the platform:
Phase 1: Fix On-Page Optimisation (Week 1–2)
Go to Analyse → Optimisation and fix every issue flagged.
| Action | What exactly | Expected impact |
|---|---|---|
| Add missing meta descriptions | Every page needs a unique 150–160 character description with primary keyword + CTA | Typically +5–15% CTR on affected pages |
| Fix title tags | Format: Primary Keyword - Secondary Keyword | Brand. Keep under 60 characters | Typically +10–20% CTR |
| Add FAQ schema markup | Structured data for every page with Q&A content. Use FAQPage JSON-LD | Typically +20–30% SERP real estate |
| Fix missing or duplicate H1s | One H1 per page containing the primary keyword | Ranking signal: indirect click lift |
| Add internal links | Every page should link to 3–5 related pages from high-authority pages | Distributes page authority, lifts positions 4–10 into 1–3 |
Measure: Optimisation score should reach 85%+.
Phase 2: Target Striking Distance Keywords (Week 2–4)
Go to Analyse → Rankings and filter for positions 4–10.
| Action | What exactly | Expected impact |
|---|---|---|
| Identify keywords ranking 4–10 | These are page 1 keywords below the click threshold | Already have authority: easiest wins |
| Update content on those pages | Add 200–500 words, a table or list, and answer People Also Ask questions | Moving from position 7→3 = roughly 3x more clicks |
| Build 2–3 internal links per page | Link from your highest-traffic pages to these targets | Typically moves 1–3 positions |
| Improve page speed | Target Core Web Vitals: LCP < 2.5s, CLS < 0.1 | Google tiebreaker for positions 3–6 |
Measure: Track weekly position changes. Expect 1–3 position improvements per keyword within 4–6 weeks.
Phase 3: Close Competitor Gaps (Week 3–6)
Go to Discover → Gap Analysis and Competitor Research.
| Action | What exactly | Expected impact |
|---|---|---|
| Export top 20 keyword gaps by volume | Keywords competitors rank for that you don't | Each gap = missed traffic you should own |
| Create one content piece per gap | Minimum 1,500 words, keyword in H1, first paragraph, and 2–3 H2s | New ranking within 4–8 weeks per piece |
| Scrape competitor pages | Analyse word count, heading structure, schema types, link count | Match or exceed their content depth |
| Publish 2–3 pieces per week | Consistent publishing signals freshness to Google | Compound effect: 20+ pages in 8 weeks |
Measure: Gap count should decrease week-on-week. New keywords entering positions 1–20 within 6–8 weeks.
Phase 4: Improve AI Visibility (Week 4–8)
Go to Analyse → AI Visibility.
| Action | What exactly | Expected impact |
|---|---|---|
| Add structured data to every key page | Article, HowTo, FAQPage, Organisation schema types | AI models parse structured data preferentially |
| Write in Q&A format | Questions as H2s, concise 2–3 sentence answers, then detail | AI models extract these as citation-ready snippets |
| Create entity-rich content | Mention related entities, use exact names, link to authoritative sources | Builds knowledge graph associations |
| Claim business listings | Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Maps | AI models cross-reference these for brand authority |
Measure: AI Visibility score trend. Expect 3–6 months for meaningful AI citation increases.
Phase 5: Automate the Cycle (Ongoing)
Go to Automate → Weekly Cycle.
| Action | What exactly | Expected impact |
|---|---|---|
| Set up weekly rank tracking | Monitor all target keywords automatically | Catch drops within 7 days, not 30 |
| Set up weekly opportunity scan | Auto-discover new keyword opportunities | Keeps your pipeline full |
| Review weekly report every Monday | 15 minutes: what moved up, what dropped, what's new | Prevents stagnation |
| Weeks | Focus | Expected outcome |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | On-page fixes (meta, schema, titles) | Typically +5–15% CTR on fixed pages |
| 2–4 | Striking distance keywords (positions 4–10) | Typically 1–3 position improvements |
| 3–6 | Competitor gap content (2–3 pieces/week) | Typically 10–15 new ranking keywords |
| 4–8 | AI visibility optimisation | AI citation appearances begin |
| 8+ | Compound effect | Typically 20–40% organic click growth |
All phases are trackable inside Prism Discovery. Use the Click Growth dashboard (Analyse → Click Growth) to monitor progress across all five phases in one place.
